Reviews: ByteCopy for Mac- An Alternative to Mac MakeMKV?

To backing up your favourite Blu-rays, we need the help of Blu-ray ripping software. Still have no idea about which one is suitable for you? This article will introduce you Pavtube ByteCopy for Mac- as an Alternative to Mac MakeMKV.

MakeMKV for Mac has been considered as one of the best Mac Blu-ray Ripper apps. It converts the video clips from proprietary (and usually encrypted)DVD and Blu-ray disc into a set of MKV files, preserving most information but not changing it in any way. The MKV format can store multiple video/audio tracks with all meta-information and preserve chapters. A most preferable feature of MakeMKV is fast conversion – it converts as fast as your drive can read data, and takes about only 1 hour to copy a Blu-ray to Mac HDD comparing with 2-8 hours with other Mac Blu-ray rippers/transcoders.

The MakeMKV for Mac, by any means, is a nice choice for BD ripping on Mac. Can we expect a more considerable Mac Blu-ray ripper than MakeMKV ?

Well, YES. The release of Pavtube ByteCopy for Mac lets us see alternative to MakeMKV for Mac- it has all the features MakeMKV has and does even more with less steps.

Good News on May 15th, 2015! Pavtube upgraded BteCopy for Mac to version 4.8.5.1, which features strong and perfect support for Blu-ray/DVD to H.265/HEVC MP4 encoding on Mac.

New features of ByteCopy for Mac v4.8.5.1:

1. Supported to encode H.265/HEVC codec
2. Optimize coding parameters
3. Fix some bugs

Overview:

Pavtube ByteCopy for Mac is an integrated tool with Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper for Mac, the old ByteCopy for Mac, and more favorable features.

It's an easy-to-use Mac tool to backup files from Blu-ray discs and standard DVDs to MKV container format with multiple audio tracks and subtitles included . More than lossless output, Pavtube ByteCopy for Mac is possible to recode the source movie into MKV/MP4/MOV/M4V video with certain video/audio codecs. It provides hundreds of preset output formats for you to convert the BD/DVD movies to compatible format for iPad, iPad Air, iPhone, iPod, Apple TV, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Kindle Fire HDX, Microsoft Surface RT/Pro, Surface 2/Pro 2, WDTV, etc. In a word, it's an all-in-one Blu-ray and DVD ripper and converter to save. Give it a try and you will be in love with it.

Screenshots:

Trial and Download

ByteCopy for Mac OS X

Requires x86 Mac OS X 10.5 or later. (including the Mac Mountain Lion, Mavericks 10.9 and Yosemite 10.10)

ByteCopy for Windows

Requires Windows XP, Vista or Win7 (32bit and 64bit), Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10

Pavtube ByteCopy for Mac rips Blu-ray in 2 ways, lossless copy and lossy conversion. In trial version lossless backup runs 7 times only; for loss conversion, a watermark is put on the screen. A full version is offered at $42 USD. The purchase includes a lifetime license and unlimited upgrades.

Note: Currently you can't edit videos by merging, splitting, trimming, cropping, adding .srt, .ass subtitle files, etc if choosing multi-track output formats.

Now you see the difference between MakeMKV for Mac and ByteCopy for Mac.

MakeMKV does lossless Blu-ray/DVD to MKV backup only while ByteCopy not only copy BD/DVD to MKV, but also allows for transcoding. The best part is that it transcodes video stream, audio track and subtitle stream separately . You can keep original video quality and meanwhile convert the TrueHD audio to Dolby Digital 5.1 audio when/if your device does not support 7.1 channels, or shrink the BD contents to videos with lower bitrate to ensure they are played properly on a slow computer or older media player.

Like MakeMKV, the ByteCopy is also easy of use. Converting a DVD/ Blu-ray Disc is a simple 3-step process. And you can make it a 2-step process by a settled preference.

Sounds even better than a MakeMKV alternative? Go ahead to try it out then!

News and Reviews for the hottest Blu-ray movies "Fast Furious 6 Entended Edition"

This article focus on the hottest Blu-ray movies "Fast Furious 6 Entended Edition", keep on reading to get the latest News and Reviews for this latest Blu-ray movies.

News and Introduction

It’s hard to watch Fast 6 now in light of the recent death of star Paul Walker, though more especially since this Fast outing has such a strong emphasis on family. With babies and familiar faces hitting this sixth outing, the power of kin weighs heavy here. Not that the action (a little Gina Carano/Michelle Rodriguez fists of fury action!), comedy (love the scene where Tyrese examines a rival gangs photos and find similarities!) and car prowess (dig those ramp enhanced autos!) isn’t at full Justin Lin helmed tilt, but with Vin Diesel and gang going after a much more elite group with only the power of family on their side, it’s hard to imagine a Fast film without the core players.

Best Feature: The doc Hand to Hand Fury examines that rather memorable fight between Carano and Rodriguez in total detail – girl fight indeed!

Best Hidden Gem: Both the 'Take Control Featurette' and the 'Exclusive Look at Fast 7' are steeped in full charismatic Paul Walker involvement and it’s bittersweet for fans.

Worth the Moola: A fine sentimental follow up to the five star action ride "Fast Five."

The Movie Itself: Our Reviewer's Take

I am a recent convert to the 'Fast and Furious' franchise. After hearing in March that the seventh movie had been announced even before the release of the sixth, I decided it was time to see what all the fuss was about. Although I didn't think much of the story and characters in 'The Fast and the Furious,' I thought the stunts and action were handled quite well. '2 Fast 2 Furious' found Walker heading out on his own to Miami but suffered like many sequels do, from being a copy of the original. Appearing as though the producers found a script lying around that they could just slap their banner on, 'Tokyo Drift' finds a new character Sean (Lucas Black) take the franchise to Japan.

A cameo at the end was the only thing revealing the movie existed in the same movie universe. With Vin Diesel on board as a producer, 'Fast & Furious' righted the ship and saw the franchise return to what it did best. 'Fast Five' took things in a different direction, gathering characters from the first two movies and becoming a heist movie, like 'Ocean's 11'. The conflict was increased with the inclusion of Diplomatic Security Service agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) in pursuit of the gang.

The seeds for the 'F&F6' story were sown in Five's epilogue. Although proclaimed dead in 'F&F', Dom's girlfriend Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) is discovered alive and working with a criminal gang in Europe, led by Owen Shaw (Luke Evans). After an attack on a Russian military convoy, Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) approaches Dom (Vin Diesel) for help. Dom agrees to get the whole gang back together on the condition that they receive pardons.

Shortly after arriving in London, they fail to stop a job by Shaw. As he and the gang learn Shaw is stealing components to create a power-disabling device he can sell, Shaw and his gang learn Letty has a connection to Dom. However, she has no memory of him because instead of dying after an accident, as everyone believed, she escaped with amnesia. Though I can't remember the scene exactly from two movies prior, I don't believe the filmmakers left themselves an out and am almost certain they cheated and created new material to change the story.

As the gangs, who are very well matched, continue to cross paths, Letty grows confused in reaction to the way each group treats her. And what helps seal the deal for her is a jaw-dropping, physics-defying moment during a crazy chase when Shaw is willing to sacrifice her to escape while Dom is willing to sacrifice himself to save her. I should mention that sequence involves Dom's team chasing after Shaw, who drives a tank down a motorway, smashing through and firing its gun at any car that gets in his way. It's exciting and caused a good bit of destruction, so I presumed it would end with Shaw's capture. Thankfully, I was wrong, and the filmmakers upped the ante even higher for a spectacular sequence that involved the good guys trying to stop Shaw and his people from leaving on a transport plane. Setting aside the logistics of how long that runaway must have been, everyone of the F&F team gets into the act and shines.

This is director Justin Lin's fourth, and for now final, movie in the franchise, and he goes out on top. He uses all the elements that have been successful: over-the-top action, humor, and camaraderie between the characters, and of course, good-looking cars and girls, and overcomes most of what didn't. While 'Fast Five' was a bit bloated during its over two-hour length, 'FF6', which runs just as long, is paced better and doesn't drag. The movie's main flaw is the villain. Evans doesn't have much presence or charisma as Shaw, and the character comes off as one-dimensional and rather forgettable. But to be fair, there's not a whole lot of characterization to the good guys either.

Once again, the epilogue hints at what was to come and suggests a great villain played by a well-known action star, but all that is unfortunately up in the air now as production on 'Fast & Furious 7' has been halted as they determine how to handle the loss of Walker.

It may have been easy to dismiss the first few installments, especially after 'Tokyo Drift' nearly sank the franchise, but with 'Fast & Furious' and 'Fast Five' pushing the series' domestic box-office total to nearly $700 million and over $1.5 billion worldwide, there's no denying its success. Even more astonishing is how 'Fast & Furious 6' bucks conventional wisdom about sequels and is my favorite of the series so far.

The Blu-ray: Vital Disc Stats

'Fast & Furious 6: Extended Edition' is on a 50GB Region A Blu-ray disc comes with a DVD, and paperwork for an UltraViolet download. They sit in a standard blue case which comes with a slipcase. There are trailers for 'Kick-Ass 2', 'Fast & Furious 6' :The Game, Transformers: The Ride 3D, and 'Riddick'.

The Video: Sizing Up the Picture

The video has been given a 1080p/AVC-MPEG-4 encoded transfer displayed at 2.35:1. The colors appear in bright, vibrant hues, especially noticeable from the cars and clothing like bikinis. The casts' various fleshtones appear consistent throughout. Blacks are rich but lean towards crushing when black cars drive through darkened streets at night. Shadow delineation is not strong. For example when Hobbs is walking through the hallways of Interpol, faces lose their features in the shadows.

Objects are sharp and well defined. Great depth is seen in the many car-chase sequences, especially when vehicles are darting in and out of traffic. The detail on display reveals very fine textures, such as in the women's clothing and surfaces such as walls and floors. In one scene, Tyrese' nose ring hole is evident. There's a limited amount of banding that pops up around lights, but it's negligible.

The Audio:

Rating the Sound

The audio is available in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and delivers a reference-quality experience. A very loud roar of what turns out to be two engines fills the surrounds, augmented with a great bottom end from the subwoofer. The viewer is immersed in the sounds of two cars speeding along a freeway before they move out of frame and into the rears. The scene then cuts to a high, overhead shot where the engines become a soft purr as a seagull cawing can be heard. Only a few moments in and the track reveals how wide its dynamic range is.

Throughout the chase scenes, the vehicles make full use of the soundfield as they travel through the different channels. The fights are accentuated and exaggerated with forceful effects. Sounds that are quieter and softer have their place as well. Bullets can be heard pinging of cement and slicing through the air. Glass breaks and shatters, tinkling onto the pavement.

Bass almost never gets distorted. One establishing shot had it turned up too high as waves crash. Dialogue is clear and all the elements are well balanced together. During the establishing scene before Dom and Lety's race, the music is cranked up louder than the rest of the movie.

The Supplements: Digging Into the Good Stuff

Deleted Scenes (HD, 2 min) – Three scenes with a Play-All option that are so short and offer so little, it makes you wonder what the point of including them is.

On the Set with Vin (HD, 3 min) – shows viewers Vin performing a simple stunt;

The Making of 'Fast & Furious 6' – This four-part feature presents “The Fastest of Them All” (HD, 10 min), which finds Lin and the cast talking about making this movie the biggest one yet; "Reuniting the Team" (HD, 7 min) focuses on the minor members of the team; "Letty's Return" (HD, 5 min) is self explanatory, and "The Mastermind and the Mole" (4 min) looks at the two main villains.

Commentary – Director Justin Lin sits for a thorough overview of the making of the film.

HD Bonus Content: Any Exclusive Goodies in There?

Take Control (HD, 20 min) – Diesel, Walker, Lin, Rodriguez talk about this film and the trilogy the movies four through six made.

Hand to Hand Fury (HD, 10 min) – This explores how different fight sequences were created with fight choreographer Olivier Schneider.

It's All About the Cars – "Gearhead's Delight" (HD, 6 min) displays the variety of vehicles from the movie and "The Flip Car" (HD, 5 min) focuses on the villains' secret weapon. "On the Set with Vin" appears under this menu heading.

> Planes, Tanks, Automobiles – Looks at four different action sequences through interviews with cast and crew and behind-the-scenes footage: "The London Chase" (HD, 8 min), "Highway Heist: The Convoy Attack" (HD, 6 min), "The Antonov Takedown" (HD, 6 min), "Dom and Letty Race Again" (HD, 4 min).

Extended Version (HD, 131 min) – Coming in at roughly one minute longer than the theatrical, I have no idea what's been added, but it doesn’t seem much different than what I saw in the theater.

'Fast & Furious 7': First Look (HD, 2 min) – While paying respects to a fallen comrade, Roman (Tyrese Gibson) talks with Brian (Walker) about not wanting to go to any more funerals in a scene that I expect to be cut from the film.

Easter Eggs

No easter eggs reported for 'Fast & Furious 6 (Extended Edition)' yet. Found an egg? Please use our tips form to let us know, and we'll credit you with the find.

Final Thoughts

While the story is as simple and lightweight as the characters, nothing delivered better action than 'Fast & Furious 6', due in large part to the practical work of the stunt team. If you like fists, bodies, and cars fly though the air, this is the movie for you. The Blu-ray allows you to simulate the theatrical experience with its great video and reference audio. Highly recommended.

Backup Frozen (2013) Thanksgiving Blu-ray for wathing freely

Description: This is a thorough hands-on review on the new realeased "Frozen (2013)" movie at Thanksgiving 2013. And give you some tips on how to backup Blu-ray/DVD to external hard drive, or watch on your portable devices.

Thanksgiving 2013 is coming, after getting your fill of turkey, stuffing, or whatever it is you feast on come Thanksgiving, why not settle in with one Thanksgiving-released film and enjoy it with your family and friends? Now let's see the popular "Frozen (2013)", a 2013 American computer animated epic musical fantasy-comedy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures

Part I: Frozen, 2013. Movie Reviews

Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee.

Featuring the voice talents of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, Ciaran Hinds, Alan Tudyk, Chris Williams, and Jack Whitehall.

SYNOPSIS:

Fearless optimist Anna teams up with Kristoff in an epic journey, encountering Everest-like conditions, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf in a race to find Anna's sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom in eternal winter.

It only seems apt that now Disney has made a considerable amount from their Princesses brand, the most recent animated “classic” Frozen depicts the story of not one, but two princesses. Loosely based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Snow Queen, Frozen harks back to a story that sits neatly alongside Tangled and Brave, as it tries to warm-up the classic, cold fairy tale with intriguing, but not ground-breaking, results.

Anna (Kristin Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) are sisters and the Princesses of Arendelle. Elsa is destined to become Queen one day, while Anna has had to live her life watching Elsa from afar. Anna has been protected from the dangers of Elsa’s ice and snow skills following a close-call with death when both girls were young. After a brief prologue, the coronation of the new Queen is soon upon us and Anna meets the man of her dreams. But dreams are shattered when Elsa’s ice-powers are unleashed and revealed to all, forcing her to run away to isolate herself from the world - leaving Arendelle as a glistening, frozen city. Anna decides to find Elsa, and bring her back to Arendelle. With the support of mountain man Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and the snowman Olaf (Josh Gad), we set-off into the white plains and trudge through the snow to see if Anna can convince her sister to return…

Disney has had their eyes on this story for many years. Dating back to 1943, Walt Disney himself considered animating sequences from The Snow Queen to support a biography on Hans Christian Andersen. Passed from animators and producers since the 1990s, it was only after the success ofTangled that Disney decided to dream up the idea in a different manner. This time, they focussed their attention on two sisters at the centre of the story – while the Snow Queen is not a villain but human and gentle, despite her dangerous powers.

These crucial changes to the story are what make Frozen innovative with a sibling story that will surely resonate with children. A context of snowscapes and detailed, twinkling snowflakes make the 3D animation worthwhile as snow falls in the cinema and sharp, ice shards jut out of the screen. The even film begins with a chanting chorus-number that harks back to The Lion King while the lead track, Let it Go, is catchy and likeable.

But inevitably, Disney has to include conventions that together become the “animation-formula”. Like the gargoyles in The Hunchback of Notre Dame or Mushu in Mulan, Olaf the snowman is brash and in-yer-face. His I’m-stupid-but-not-really humour becomes likable and his lack of knowledge of the sun is deeply tragic – though comedic. Alas, while one wacky character is effective, the snow-monster created to defend the Snow Queen is out of place (begging the question that, if the Snow Queen can create snow-monsters, she can surely create many more to stop the attack on her castle).

Though flawed, Frozen does seem to break the icy-mould with a finale that ignores convention (despite conventional male-female dynamics as Anna ultimately needs Kristoff - the big, brute of a man - to help her succeed). These final moments redeem any minor qualms and reveal that Disney is primarily interested in thoughtful storytelling. Disney are clearly adapting fairy tales with the intention of making something that lasts longer than the throwaway stories of Bolt and Brother Bear - and Frozen will have longevity. But, Frozen does slip and we are still a long way from the quality of Beauty and the Beast and the Princesses that defined the brand itself.

Part II: How to Backup and Play "Frozen (2013)" on your smartphones or tables?

In case that you have downloaded the "

Most people suffer the pain of destroying your favorite movie by scratching the disc. Maybe your kids are a bit too rough with it, maybe your disc player decides to chew on it or maybe you are just unlucky. Such as:

In this case, it is possible to buy Blu-ray or DVD movies as digital downloads to avoid discs completely, but you will be disappointed that movie downloads don’t match the picture quality of Blu-ray discs. Top BD/DVD Ripper/Copier- Backup Blu-ray/DVDs without Quality Loss

Need a copy of your Blu-ray/DVDs? In this article, we will introduce the fast and easiest way to backup your favorite Blu-ray and DVD movie keeping the original structure or directly copy the main movie from Blu-ray/DVD without any loss of quality.

I've mac 10.6.3 installation dvds just want to know that is there any windows base burning software by using which I could make backup/clone copy of those dvds? Note: I know, how to make using mac but want to know how to within windows please tell me the name of that software (windows xp based). Regards

As we all know, Blu-rays and DVDs are usually hard to be backed up due to region code and disc encryption protection, you’d better to use Pavtube BD/DVD ripping and copying program to remove the disc protection and copy source disc to computer hard drive with same structure preserved. Here I will show you how to copy Blu-ray on Mac with original quality. There are mainly two choices for you: Full Disc copy or Directly Copy.

1. Click the "computer" icon on the top to output 1:1 Blu-ray/DVD file exactly the same as original.

2. Select "Copy>Directly Copy" in format list to output an intact m2ts file of the main title.

Step 3. Change video specs. (Optional)

If you are not satisfied with default specs, then click "Settings" to enter Profiles Settings windows. You can customize video frame rate, bitrate, size and other settings freely.

(It does not work for directly copy)

Step 4. Start conversion.

Click the big red "Convert" to start backing up or converting your Blu-ray/DVDs. Usually backup will be quicker because it does not need to do trancoding.

After the conversion, click "Open output folder" to quick locate converted files. Connect your hard drive to computer and transfer them into it.
